Oyuncu bilgileri

R Praggnanandhaa is an Indian chess grandmaster and one of the leading players of the new generation. He became a grandmaster at 12, reached the 2023 FIDE World Cup final as a teenager, and qualified for the 2024 Candidates before adding another major step in 2025 by winning the FIDE Circuit. That same year he built one of the strongest seasons of his career, taking the Tata Steel Masters, the UzChess Cup, and other high-value results that pushed his classical rating to a career peak of 2785 in September 2025. By spring 2026, he remained a central name in elite chess and a serious contender in the world championship cycle. His profile combines deep calculation, positional patience, and growing confidence in the biggest tournaments.

Indian chess grandmaster, Tata Steel champion, and one of the strongest young players in the world.

Oyun tarzı

Praggnanandhaa’s style blends calculation with growing strategic maturity. Early in his rise he was often framed mainly as a prodigy with tactical speed, but his recent tournament wins show a more complete player: one who can prepare sharply, defend difficult positions, and convert cleanly when the moment comes. He is especially dangerous in games where the position remains rich but not chaotic, because he now combines technical control with enough imagination to outplay elite opposition from many different structures.
