Oyuncu bilgileri

Gukesh D is an Indian chess grandmaster and the reigning World Chess Champion. He won the 2024 FIDE World Championship against Ding Liren and became the youngest undisputed world champion in chess history. Before that, he had already made history by winning the 2024 Candidates Tournament as its youngest-ever winner, then helping India take team gold at the 45th Chess Olympiad while also earning individual gold on board one. On the April 2026 FIDE list, Gukesh is rated 2732 and remains firmly inside the world top 15. His rise has been built on elite calculation, composure in long classical games, and a mature competitive style that has developed far beyond the label of “prodigy.” Even after becoming world champion, he has remained a central figure in the modern elite, adding more high-level results in 2025 and keeping his place among the leading players of his generation.

Oyun tarzı

Gukesh’s style combines deep calculation with unusual calm for his age. He is comfortable in long classical fights, does not rush critical decisions, and often keeps complex positions under control even when the clock or match situation becomes tense. Earlier in his rise he was often described mainly as a tactician, but his world-title run showed a far more complete player: one who can defend accurately, absorb pressure, and choose the right moment to strike. That balance between precision and nerve is a major part of what makes him so dangerous in elite events.
