How are scores calculated?

A win has a base score of 2 points, a draw 1 point, and a loss is worth no points. If you win two games consecutively you will start a double point streak, represented by a flame icon. The following games will continue to be worth double points until you fail to win a game. That is, a win will be worth 4 points, a draw 2 points, and a loss will still not award any points.

How is the winner decided?

The player(s) with the most points at the conclusion of the tournament's set time limit will be announced Provisional winner. To ensure the coaching benefits developing players the most, the Free Coaching Prize is strictly available only for players who meet both of the following criteria: Players with an Arena title below AGM (e.g., ACM, AIM, AFM, or no title). Players with a rating strictly under 1800 (applicable to both WorldChess and FIDE ratings).

How does the pairing work?

At the beginning of the tournament, players are paired based on their rating.

How does it end?

The tournament has a countdown clock. When it reaches zero, the tournament rankings are frozen, and the winner is announced. Games in progress must be finished, however they don't count for the tournament.

What is the prize for this tournament?

The 1st Place Winner will receive 1 (one) exclusive Free Chess Coaching Session. Each coaching session will last for approximately 30-45 minutes Vie Gmeet.

What happens if the 1st Place winner does not meet the eligibility criteria?

We use a "pass-down" rule. If the 1st Place winner exceeds the eligibility threshold (e.g., rated above 1800 or holds an AGM+ title), the prize will automatically cascade down to the next highest-ranking player in the final standings who meets all the requirements.

How will my rating and title be verified?

Before the Free Coaching prize is officially awarded, the organizer will conduct a mandatory background check. We will manually verify both your WorldChess platform rating and your official FIDE rating to ensure you strictly meet the eligibility criteria.

How strict are the Fair Play and Anti-Cheating rules?

Extremely strict. The use of chess engines, bots, opening books, or receiving assistance from any third party during the games is strictly prohibited.

How is Fair Play monitored?

In addition to WorldChess's built-in cheat detection, all games played by the prospective prize winner(s) will undergo a rigorous manual Fair Play review. This analysis is conducted using a proprietary, custom-built cheat detection application developed and owned by the organizer.

What happens if someone is caught cheating?

If our custom cheat detection system identifies suspicious play or engine assistance, the player will be immediately disqualified and lose any right to the prize. Furthermore, the organizer will officially report the flagged account, along with the analysis data, to the WorldChess Fair Play team for potential disciplinary actions.

Congratulations! You must claim your prize by contacting the organizer via WhatsApp at +6282114855870 within 24 hours after the tournament concludes to schedule your session.

Is there a deadline to use the coaching session?

Yes, the coaching session must be conducted within 5 days of claiming the prize.
