Chess players around the world are quaking in their boots after Magnus Carlsen's wife Ella Victoria revealed she has given birth. How long until the newborn becomes a grandmaster?
Adorable — or terrifying? GM Magnus Carlsen and his wife Ella Victoria have welcomed their first child into the world, and speculation has already exploded about how good the baby will be at chess.
"Kid's prob already higher rated than me," one poster said. "He's just taking a nap there after some training games and refreshing Najdorf theory he learnt a couple of days ago."
Carlsen is, of course, considered the undisputed daddy of chess, having dominated the game since he first became world number-one in 2011.
Now he has a new number one in his life born on September 27.
