12歳の天才少年が、史上最年少のグランドマスターになるという挑戦で正念場を迎えている。簡単ではない——2600格の相手に勝たなければならない。
さあ、ここが正念場だ。IM Faustino Oro、アルゼンチン出身の12歳の超天才が、史上最年少のグランドマスターとして歴史に名を刻むことができるだろうか？
チェス界は固唾を飲んで見守っており、その答えは木曜日のAeroflot Open最終ラウンドで明らかになる。試合はモスクワ時間12時に開始され、ロシアチェス連盟の YouTubeチャンネルはこちらで観戦できる。
水曜日の連勝で、Oroは目標とするFIDEトーナメントパフォーマンス レーティング2600達成まであと一歩に迫っており、これが最後のチャンスだ。

Oroは第8ラウンドの接戦で、アゼルバイジャンのIM Shiroglan Talibovを破り、鉄の神経を見せた。あと1勝が必要だ。

その目標を達成すれば、Oroがタイトル獲得に必要な3つ目のGMノルムを獲得し、GM Abhimanyu Mishraの記録を破ることになる。
しかし、それは非常に困難な課題だ。
最終ラウンドでOroが対戦するのは、19歳のロシア人GM Aleksey Grebnev、FIDEレーティング2621。Grebnevはトーナメントで無敗であり、Oro（レーティング2526）は黒番を持つ。
