Player Details

Shamsiddin Vokhidov is an Uzbek chess grandmaster and one of the strongest members of Uzbekistan’s post-Olympiad generation. He first came to wider attention by winning the World Youth Under-14 Championship in 2015, later earned the grandmaster title in 2020, and built his senior résumé with victories in the Asian Hybrid Championship in 2021 and the Asian Continental Championship in 2023. His profile gained another layer through team success: he was part of Uzbekistan’s Olympiad-winning generation in 2022, then added an individual board gold and a team bronze at the 2024 Chess Olympiad. By April 2026 he remained inside the world top 100, reflecting a career that has moved from prodigy promise to established international strength. Vokhidov’s rise has been shaped by strong preparation, tactical alertness, and the ability to contribute in both individual and team competition.

Uzbek chess grandmaster, Asian champion, and Olympiad board-gold medalist.

Playing Style

Vokhidov’s style is active, well-prepared, and comfortable in dynamic middlegames. He is not limited to one kind of position: his results show he can handle both structured strategic games and sharper tactical battles. The mix of team success, continental titles, and notable individual upsets suggests a player who is especially effective when the tournament stakes rise. He also looks increasingly mature as a practical competitor, not just as a talented tactician.
