New Episode Of The World Chess Show Airs Examining The World Cup And All Its Drama

"Here, you just get eliminated" — that was GM Evgenij Miroshnichenko's summary of the FIDE World Cup and what makes it so exciting.
This year's near month-long event in Goa, India, was an extravaganza of chess that gave us all great entertainment and sorted out some of the big unresolved questions in the chess world.
Some, but not all.
The World Chess Show went to India to follow the tournament and investigate.
The show spoke with Indian legend GM Viswanathan Anand about how the meaning of the world title has changed—and how, after losing his crown to GM Magnus Carlsen, he helped spark an entire new Indian generation.

The show also traces the rise of Chess Media, created by Sagar Shah and Amruta Mokal—a media phenomenon that documented, nurtured, and inspired one of the strongest young chess cultures in the world.
December's episode pulls together the stories of stars, underdogs, legends, and dreamers in Goa. Enjoy!
